Hi everyone. Welcome to my website! I hope you are enjoying your life to the fullest each day. You know, I’ve been an ER doc for over 20 years and have treated thousands of people from all walks of life. I’ve seen many “birth” days and “final” days over the years and its left me humbled by the awesome gift of life and amazed at how much we take for granted when it comes to our life.

On a daily basis I see patients experience serious health problems which are directly related to the choices they have made. It’s what led to my work in television and radio. Whether it’s choosing to ignore headaches which could indicate an aneurysm, driving while intoxicated or failing to take medication to control hypertension, the bottom line is this. I’ve never met a patient who was ready to deal with the consequences of these types of decisions. Our society has become so focused on “right now” that we have forgotten about the inevitable “tomorrow” waiting to each of us. Years of uncontrolled hypertension can lead to hardening of the arteries, enlargement of the heart, kidney failure, stroke and heart attack.

Of course, we all know what driving while intoxicated can cause. As your friend, I ask that you take a moment to do an honest personal survey of your life and your health status. Are there issues that need to be addressed? Recently some friends shared with me that they have a drinking problem and have made the decision to go to Alcoholics Anonymous to get sober.

What are you doing or not doing that could adversely affect your health? When was your last mammogram, PAP smear or colonoscopy? Do you know the recommended screening guidelines for these tests? Do you smoke? Is your cholesterol elevated? When was the last time you had your blood pressure or blood glucose checked? Do you have a suspicious mole that you hope will just go away? Please trust me when I tell you that it is far better to be proactive than reactive when it comes to your health. Be well!
